Chromas are the shiny, color-cycling versions of godly weapons, and they're the thing most MM2 players want to own and least expect to pull. Here's what they are and how you actually get one.
What a chroma is
The MM2 wiki describes chromas as color-alternating versions of several godlies. They're godly rarity, and the wiki says there are 35 chroma weapons in the game at the moment (that number can change when new events add more). A chroma shares its look with the regular godly but cycles through colors, so it stands out in any round.
Take Chroma Luger. The wiki says it's the chroma counterpart of the Luger from Gun Box 1, with a model that is the same pistol retextured with a color-alternating finish. It also says it's the most valued of the Lugers.
How people get chromas
From boxes
The wiki says that in Season 1 every box was given an unboxable chroma version of the godly inside, and that the chance of unboxing a chroma is extremely low. For one 2025 event box it lists the chroma chance as unknown. So you can open a lot of boxes without seeing one.
From events
Some chromas came from event boxes, gifting, tiers or gamepasses during their event. The wiki lists Chroma Sands, Chroma Beachy and Chroma Icecream under the Summer 2026 event, and Chroma Heart Wand, Chroma Treat and Chroma Sweet under Valentine's 2026.
From crafting
Only one chroma is made this way. The wiki lists Chroma Seer as the crafted one.
From trading
Several chromas can now only be obtained by trading, because the events that offered them are over. The wiki names Chroma Evergun, Chroma Bauble, Chroma Sunset and others in that group.
Buying versus waiting
If you're set on a certain chroma, waiting for a lucky box is a coin flip with long odds. Trading for one takes a strong inventory, since chromas tend to be valued highly, and each trade carries the usual risks. The third route is buying from a store, where you can see the chroma, see the price and pay it.
For event-era chromas that you missed, there's often no other way to get them besides trading or buying. You can look through the full chromas collection to see what's in stock, or start with a single piece such as the Chroma Luger or the Heart Wand Knife, which has a chroma counterpart.
Keep in mind that buying or trading items for real money carries risk under Roblox's rules. The choice is up to you.
Are chromas worth the money?
That's a personal call. They look better than the standard version and carry higher value on trade lists, but you pay for it. If you play often and love the look, many people feel it's worth it. If you only want a good-looking weapon, a regular godly from the godlys page may be plenty.
How chromas differ from regular godlys
The big difference is rarity of access. A box godly usually has a 0.2% chance (1 in 500) per the wiki, and the chroma is listed as lower still. That's why you'll see chromas in fewer inventories, and why trade lists value them above their standard versions in many cases. The wiki says Chroma Luger, for instance, is the most valued of all the Lugers.
Chromas also can't be broken down for crafting. The wiki says they aren't salvageable at the crafting station, so you can't turn a spare chroma into materials.
Old versus new chromas
Older chromas, like those from the original boxes, can still be unboxed in theory. Many event chromas can't. The wiki says several, including Chroma Evergun and Chroma Sunset, are now obtained only through trading. If you've been eyeing one of those, a store or a trader is the only way in.
Newer chromas, such as the Summer 2026 and Valentine's 2026 ones, may be easier to find while the memory of the event is fresh. Check the new items collection to see what we've added recently.
