Everyone wants a godly in MM2, and the honest answer to "how do I get one" is that you can get one fairly easily if you don't care which. Getting the specific one you've been staring at on a value list is where it gets hard.
The ways godlys actually enter your inventory
The MM2 wiki lists several routes: boxes, crafting, gamepasses, events, trading and codes. Here's what each really means for you.
- Boxes. You pay Coins, Diamonds or a Mystery Key and get a random weapon.
- Crafting. This one's mainly for the Seer line, which the wiki says is obtained by crafting or trading.
- Events. Limited-time boxes, battle passes and tier rewards, each with a deadline.
- Gamepasses and bundles, when the game sells them.
- Trading with other players.
Why boxes take so long
The wiki says a box godly usually has a 0.2% chance, or 1 in 500, of being unboxed. That figure is for a godly in general. Each box holds one godly and its chroma, so you're also hoping the box you chose is the one with the weapon you wanted. For chromas, the wiki notes the odds are lower still, and for at least one event box it lists the chroma chance as unknown.
That doesn't mean you'll need 500 boxes. Luck doesn't work like a countdown, and some players get one on their first few tries. It does mean there's no way to promise a result, and if you're after one particular godly you could spend a lot and end up with a pile of commons.
Events are the other big source, and they expire
Event boxes can only be opened while the event runs. The wiki's example is the 2025 Halloween box, which cost 800 candies or an Alien Key and could only be opened during the event. After the event ends, that godly is a trade-only item. Players who missed the window have two choices left: find a trader or buy from someone who has it.
Free godlys?
Search suggestions for this topic are full of "for free" and "codes," and it's worth being straight about that. Codes exist and can give small rewards. Any site promising a free godly for a username and a survey is almost certainly after something from you. Don't hand over a password, ever.
So what's the fastest realistic route?
If you want any godly and enjoy opening boxes, open boxes. If you want a specific weapon, there are two practical routes. You can trade up, which takes time and a decent inventory, or you can buy it from a store and accept the trade in game. We think the second is simpler, and that's why we built the shop.
To see what's available, browse the godlys collection. If it's a chroma you're after, the chromas collection has them listed separately, and our piece on how chromas work explains the difference.
The usual caveat applies. Buying or trading items for real money carries risk under Roblox's rules, and you decide whether that's acceptable to you.
A realistic plan for different goals
If your goal is simply to own a godly, start with the free route. Play rounds, earn Coins, and open a box or two when you can. You'll get a feel for the odds, and you might get lucky.
If your goal is a certain event godly, check whether that event is running. If it is, the event's own box or battle pass is your best shot at getting it directly, and you can plan your candies or tokens ahead. If it isn't, you're looking at trading or buying, because the wiki says weapons from ended event boxes are still obtainable through trading.
If your goal is a chroma, set your expectations low for unboxing. The wiki calls the chance of unboxing a chroma extremely low, so most owners either traded for theirs or got it during an event.
Why people end up buying
It usually comes down to time. Someone has a favorite knife, tries boxes for a while, tries trading for a while, and then realizes they've spent weeks without it. Buying a specific item takes the guesswork away. It costs money, and you should only do it if that's a trade you want to make.
We'd rather you know all of this up front than feel misled later. Boxes are fun, and some people open them for that alone. Just don't count on one to deliver a certain godly.
FAQ
How to get godlys in MM2 for free?
You can earn some through events, since many event rewards are earned by playing, but it takes a lot of play and the rewards vary by event. Be careful with sites promising free godlys, because most want your login details.
How to get godlys in MM2 without trading?
Open boxes, play event battle passes, or buy from a store. Boxes are random. Event passes need a lot of candies or tokens. A store lets you pick the exact weapon.
How long does it take to get a godly in MM2?
There's no fixed answer. With a box godly chance listed on the wiki as about 0.2% per opening, some people get lucky quickly and others open many boxes with no godly. Aiming for one specific weapon takes longer still.
Can you buy godlys in MM2?
You can buy boxes that might hold one, and some godlys have been sold through gamepasses. For older or event-only godlys, buying from a store or trading are the usual options.
